My name is Sandra Fox (she/her), and I am from the Musqueam Indian Band. My mother Doris Fox was from Musqueam, and my father is a third-generation settler of British ancestry. I grew up as an uninvited guest in syilx and Secwepemc territories and live as an uninvited guest with my two children in syilx territory in so-called Kelowna. I have worked in and with Indigenous communities in diverse capacities and fields including education, child welfare, and post-secondary education. I completed my Master of Arts and am starting a PhD in Indigenous Knowledges from UBC Okanagan. I worked at the institution most recently supporting Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers and now work for VCHRI as the Indigenous Research Engagement and Knowledge Translation Lead.
