Shelley has a Bachelor of Science, Honors degree with a major in cell and molecular biology and a minor in criminology from Simon Fraser University. She holds a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) designation and completed the research administration certification from Mohawk College. She has over 10 years of experience as a clinical research coordinator in respiratory medicine, oncology, endocrinology, and orthopedic trauma. Shelley has knowledge of regulatory affairs, Heath Canada’s Special Access Program, site/institutional compliance requirements, and research ethics. She has worked on industry-sponsored, investigator-sponsored, and grant-funded studies and worked with the University of British Columbia’s Clinical Research Ethics Board during the pandemic to assist with ethics reviews.

Currently, Shelley is the National Coordinator for the Canadian Severe Asthma Registry (CSAR). Her focus is on increasing recruitment of severe asthma patients to ensure the Canadian population is well represented in the International Severe Asthma Registry (ISAR) dataset. She is also managing several pharmaceutical studies for asthma, allergic asthma, and other respiratory conditions. Additionally, Shelley manages study start-up activities, contract and budget negotiations, study recruitment, participant management, staff training, maintenance, and creation of site standard operating procedures and equipment maintenance and calibrations. She is also trained in sputum processing and has a specialized research sputum lab.

Amin Adibi is a disease modeller and statistical researcher at the Respiratory Evaluation Sciences Program in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia and Legacy for Airway Health. He is also a health economics consultant for the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health.

In his research, Amin uses health economics, applied statistics, and machine learning techniques to predict prognosis of lung conditions, improve clinical decision-making, and evaluate potential harms and benefits of various healthcare policies. Amin is an advocate for open science and a co-founder of the Peer Models Network, a healthcare modelling accessibility initiative that empowers clinicians, scientists, and patients to access and evaluate healthcare models. Amin holds an MSc degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Calgary.

Dr. Stephanie Harvard is a Research Associate at Legacy for Airway Health in the UBC Division of Respiratory Medicine. She holds a joint Ph.D. from the UBC School of Population and Public Health (Vancouver) and Université Pierre et Marie Curie École doctorale Pierre Louis de Santé Publique (Paris) and has expertise in health economics, values in science and modelling, patient-oriented research and knowledge translation. She is co-founder of the Peer Models Network (PMN), a healthcare modelling accessibility initiative that empowers clinicians, scientists, and patients to access and evaluate healthcare models, and she has produced a variety of educational videos available on the PMN YouTube page. Her recent work can be read in Pharmacoeconomics, Social Science and Medicine, The Kennedy Institute of Ethics Journal, and Applied Health Economics and Health Policy. 

Dr. AJ Hirsch Allen is a Biostatistician and Research Associate affiliated with the Lung Centre and Legacy for Airway Health. AJ studied sleep disorders and their impact on public health with the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia for fifteen years prior to moving to Legacy for Airway Health. AJ received his Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia where he studied the impact of sleep apnea on occupational injuries. AJ received his MPH from the Global Health Program at Simon Fraser University and his BASc from McGill University where he studied Biochemistry.

Ronda Pfleger is an Administrative Assistant with Legacy for Airway Health.  She is responsible for administering the organization’s operational procedures and providing assistance to team members with their project planning. Her background in diverse sectors has lead to her successfully implementing procedures in the areas of research and innovation, corporate finance, and governmental affairs. Her interests include fitness classes at the gym; HIIT, Zumba, and spinning along with swimming in the pool and competing in open water events.

Dr. Erin Shellington is a Research Associate with the Legacy for Airway Health team. Her previous experience is in Kinesiology where she focused on physical activity for treatment and secondary prevention of chronic conditions, such as diabetes, dementia, and arthritis. During her post-doctoral fellowship, she worked with Indigenous communities in BC on understanding alternate worldviews to health and wellbeing. Erin is originally from Brantford Ontario and in her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, and baking.
